Now that I have a pretty diverse mix of posts on my page I wanted to start to experiment with things a little. I’m pretty excited to start playing around with some presets that I’ve made in Lightroom. This one is a dark matte preset, when added to the right dish, like this one, reminds me of something off of a menu in an old Chicago restaurant from the late ’70s or early ’80s. It keeps the details of the dish while adding a bit of mystique at the same time. What’s not to love, right? I did do a few variations of the preset one being a little brighter (as the one immediately below) than the others in this post. I love them all and honestly couldn’t make up my mind which one was best so why not post them all.
This personal pizza is a favorite of mine that we discovered about a year ago when doing research on making healthier meals for our family. The bread is called “Nan bread”, it’s a flatbread that is healthier than regular bread or dough, with fewer carbs. The Nan-bread can be found at any local store in the bakery section and they come in several shapes and sizes. Throw some of your favorite toppings on, and you have a cheap, quick and healthier meal in minutes.
Hi there, I’m Beth!
This site is my world, my travels, my food and my thoughts, in pictures. I am a Photographer, and a Graphic Designer, doing what I love and living in one of the most beautiful places in all of the world, Texas!
Honestly, the field of Photography is so vast, and there is always something new to learn, so that title of “Professional” will be a fun, yet challenging goal to obtain. I have always loved photography and I’ve always loved to write so this is my perfect combo. The old adage is, “A picture is worth a thousand words”, this is true, but if you are anything like me, you want that little bit more behind what the photographer’s thoughts were at the time. That little extra is what I want this site to accomplish. I will also chronicle my time learning everything as I go along, which should be quite interesting in its own right. I am hoping that maybe I can ease someone else’s fears no matter what they decide to jump into. Because, when diving head first into anything new, it can be a lonely road to walk alone.
I have lived all over the United States from North Carolina, to California, and from Illinois, and finally resting here in Houston, Texas. What started as a vacation to the Houston area turned out to be the best move we have ever made. Before my feet ever hit the pavement, I knew I was “home”. When your soul is at peace everything in life becomes clearer and less confusing, so that alone, I know will help when conveying what I need to say here.
I am not “PC” by any means, this is real life, real thoughts, real experiences, and real photos. All photos were taken by myself, all are copyrighted, and I will always set out to use as minimal editing as possible. I feel that, too much editing takes away from the photo and also from the photographer, and their skills. If you have any questions or comments about my photos or posts or if you would like to purchase a print of mine, please do not hesitate to contact me.
